Easy Ways to Tell Your Home Is Water Damaged

Obvious water damage often comes as a result of flooding and other natural instances, but it can also affect your home over time in less blatant ways. Here are a few things to look for if you suspect your home might be water damaged.

Structural Shifts

If you notice slight changes in the composition of your house, such as bloated walls, peeling wallpaper, and warping in the floors, you can assume that water damage has taken place.

Rusty Appliances

If metal appliances in your house are starting to display rust, this could be a sign that water has made its way into the building. Keep an eye on the attic and basement in particular for this one.

Mold

Perhaps the most obvious sign of water damage. If your walls are moldy then something must be done immediately, as it can be very dangerous.
